![]() Second, Left 4 Dead 3 may not be financially viable. It takes a lot of time and effort to develop a AAA game, and it’s possible that the team behind Left 4 Dead isn’t ready to commit to another project just yet. First, the developers may simply not be ready to release a new game yet. ![]() So why hasn’t Left 4 Dead 3 been released yet? It’s been over six years since the last Left 4 Dead game was released, and fans have been clamoring for a third installment ever since. If Left 4 Dead 3 is in development, then we could see one of the most anticipated games in recent years. But, it’s definitely something to keep an eye on. Of course, all of this is just speculation at this point. And, if that’s the case, then we could see a release sometime in the next few years. However, there have been some reports that suggest that the game could be in development. So, what do we know? Well, unfortunately, not much. While nothing has been officially announced, there are plenty of rumors floating around about the possibility of a new game. There’s been a lot of speculation lately about Left 4 Dead 3. Is Left 4 Dead coming out with a new game In fact, there’s been talk of a Left 4 Dead TV series, which could potentially bring the zombies back to life. However, that doesn’t mean that the franchise is dead. It’s clear that Valve is not interested in making Left 4 Dead 3, at least not in the near future. "So for now, we’re just going to keep making Left 4 Dead games for people to enjoy."įaliszek’s comments seem to echo what Valve co-founder Gabe Newell said back in 2016, when he told IGN that the company wasn’t working on Left 4 Dead 3 because it didn’t know how to "make something that would be as good as the Left 4 Dead games." "We’ve seen how much people love the Left 4 Dead games and we don’t want to do anything to tamper with that," he said. In an interview with IGN, Valve’s Chet Faliszek said that the company has no plans for Left 4 Dead 3. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like Left 4 Dead 3 is going to be released any time soon. It’s been over six years since the last Left 4 Dead game was released, and fans are still clamoring for a sequel. I’m also looking forward to see what new features and gameplay mechanics the third game will bring. ![]() I love the co-operative gameplay and the intense zombie action. ![]() Even after the split, Turtle Rock still retained many original L4D developers on its staff.I’m excited for the release of Left 4 Dead 3 because I’ve been a fan of the series since the first game. However, a rift in coordination led to a split between Valve and the studio, with Valve South separating and renaming itself Turtle Rock as a new independent company in 2010. For a brief period, during which it released the first Left 4 Dead, Turtle Rock was renamed Valve South. Rather, it's the product of Turtle Rock Studios, which was originally established in 2002 and acquired by Valve in 2008. More importantly, however, Back 4 Blood isn't being made by Valve proper. That willingness to give the fans what they want can be construed as a substitute for an actual third game, so it wouldn't make much sense for a numbered sequel like Left 4 Dead 3 to come right after it. That update, which featured a whole new campaign, 20 new survival maps, new mutations, and new melee weapons, was made in collaboration with the community. Valve also released Left 4 Dead 2's first major update in eight years in 2020. Barring the standard jokes about Valve not being able to make a third game for any of its franchises, it would be a strange move for a studio to dissuade players from hoping to play a specific game, only to then confirm its existence almost a year later. The first reason is clear: Valve explicitly stated earlier in 2020 that a proper Left 4 Dead 3 is not in development, despite the thicket of rumors to the contrary that circulated for years. ![]()
